Corpse Scavengers

When a player dies, the location is marked with an invisible anchor. Nearby hostile mobs within a 32-block radius will pathfind toward that spot over the next few minutes.

Mob Behavior

Mobs that reach the death location and linger there briefly will consume the lingering essence, gaining:

  • Permanent strength boost
  • Slightly increased health

These effects stack if multiple players have died nearby, creating dangerous hotspots where mobs become noticeably more formidable.

Details

  • Invisible markers are placed as armor stands and despawn after 5 minutes if not consumed
  • Scavenger mobs: Zombies, skeletons, spiders
  • Non-scavengers: Creepers (ignore death sites)
  • Dying repeatedly in the same area makes that zone increasingly hazardous
  • Encourages players to either avoid repeat deaths or clear out empowered mobs before they become overwhelming

  • No player commands required—operates entirely automatically
