During the rare Extreme Horde Moon event, the weight of zombie spawns will be greatly increased, and all mob spawns will increase by a large amount as well, leading to a world overrun by the walking dead.
Not a big enough challenge, you say? Okay, well you asked for it. All zombies now have Strength 1 and Speed 1.
Still not enough? Fine. Now they have full iron armor and iron swords.
This is meant to be used with the regular Horde Moon, but it isn't required.
Just for fun, try it with The Hordes
