Into The Shadows

Sometimes the silence in this world is too perfect — so smooth it begins to sound like a lie. You walk along familiar paths, convinced there's no one around. And yet… something feels off. The snap of a twig, though none should snap. A gentle breeze you don't feel on your skin, only hear right behind you.

At first, you ignore it. You know you're alone. But the longer you traverse this peaceful, familiar terrain, the more often you catch a shadow out of the corner of your eye, vanishing before you can turn your head. Something tiny slides across the floor of your shelter, leaving traces you can't match to any creature.

And then there's that feeling — heavy, sticky to the back of your neck. As if someone was standing right behind you, too quiet to hear, but too close to forget.

You're not alone. You never were. And though you try to convince yourself it's you observing the world, the truth is much simpler…
The world is watching you. And something inside him finally decided to reveal itself.
