OpenRPG
ModrinthOpenRPG: A modular, open-source RPG engine for Paper.
OpenRPG — Modular RPG System
Turn your server into an RPG without external plugins or client modifications. Classes, talents, stats, EXP progression and a public API for developers — all in one lightweight plugin.
What is OpenRPG?
OpenRPG adds a class system with passive abilities, a talent tree, modifiable stats (damage, defense, speed, critical hit) and level progression — all with an inventory GUI, no complicated commands.
Players pick a class, gain EXP by killing mobs, level up and spend points on a talent tree with prerequisites and skill chains. Each class feels different: the Warrior fights melee, the Mage is powerful at night, the Assassin strikes from the shadows.
Main features
3 unique classes
Each class has modifiers that activate automatically based on the player's context:
- Warrior — Damage, defense, speed and crit bonuses when enemies are near
- Mage — Night power, arcane shield when low on health, fire aura on hit
- Assassin — Devastating damage while sneaking, high crit chance, life steal
Extensible talent tree
- 18 starting (examples) skills (6 per class) with connections and requirements
- Players earn 1 talent point per level (max 50)
- Skills are loaded from a YAML file — add 1000+ without recompiling
- Visual inventory interface: nodes appear as items and are assigned with a click
Advanced stats
- Damage, defense and speed multipliers
- Critical hit system: chance + multiplier
- All effects stack and sort by priority automatically
Other features
Multi-language
- Auto-detects the player's client language
- English and Spanish included
- Adding a new language is just creating a
.propertiesfile
