PointRanks is a dynamic PvP ranking plugin that tracks player performance using a balanced point system designed for fair and competitive gameplay. Players start as unranked at 0 points and gain or lose points based on their actions, with ranks displayed as a prefix before their username (e.g., [#1] or [Unranked]). The plugin prevents farming through a per-player kill cooldown system, rewards active playtime, and includes meaningful penalties for dying, ensuring progression feels earned. Top players receive powerful perks like permanent Luck effects or extra hearts, making the leaderboard highly competitive and rewarding to climb. Features include:

+30 points per player kill with a 5-hour cooldown per target
+2 points every 10 minutes of playtime
-40 points on death (never drops below 0, resets to Unranked at 0)
Real-time leaderboard with rank prefixes
Top 5 players gain infinite Luck effect
Top 2 players gain +2 extra hearts
Commands: /points, /leaderboard, /setpoints, /checkpoints
