Pot Seeker

Pot Seeker is a lightweight Fabric client mod that renders compact status-effect indicators above loaded players.
It is extracted from the HeatSeeker Potion Seeker feature and packaged as a standalone mod for Minecraft 1.21.11.

Features

• Shows active effect icons above nearby loaded players.
• Uses vanilla HUD-style effect icons.
• Supports effects discovered from exact status-effect packets.
• Falls back to Minecraft 1.21.11 POTION_SWIRLS entity metadata when servers do not send exact effect packets for other players.
• Optional through-wall rendering.
• Optional empty markers for troubleshooting visibility.
• Optional self-effect HUD display above the hotbar.
• Mod Menu configuration screen.
• Adjustable max displayed players, size, opacity, and vertical offset.

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.21.11
• Fabric Loader 0.18.5 or newer
• Fabric API
• Java 21
• Mod Menu is optional but recommended for configuration.

Limitations

Minecraft clients do not always receive the exact status-effect list for other players. Pot Seeker uses the best available client-side data:

• exact EntityStatusEffectS2CPacket data when available;
• vanilla POTION_SWIRLS tracked entity metadata as fallback.

The fallback is reliable for common visible vanilla effects, but stacked effects or effects with identical visual particle data may not always be distinguishable perfectly.
