Ripples of the Past is a mod based on the manga and anime series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure by Hirohiko Araki. It primarily focuses on supernatural powers from the show, currently they include Stands, Hamon and vampirism. The mod's main goal is to implement the abilities from JoJo into Survival gameplay in a way that gives the player more freedom and encourages creative use of their abilities, making them feel like a JoJo character.

Dependencies: The mod features new player poses and animations for some player actions. To enable them, install playerAnimator and bendy-lib.

Powers and ways to obtain them:

Vampirism

Vampires are extremely powerful creatures with lots of buffs, able to create an army of loyal zombies. They do not need food nutrients and instead rely on consuming the blood of living creatures to maintain their power. Their main weakness, however, is that, due to them being undead, they quickly die under the sunlight.

Vampiric powers are obtainable through a Stone Mask, which can be looted from jungle pyramids. A Mask will turn its wearer into a vampire when activated by blood (to do so, receive physical damage or hurt a nearby villager/animal). Also, player vampires can grant other players part of their power, turning them into weaker vampires.

Hamon

Hamon is an energy that can be created by breathing in a special way. Because of the properties of this energy being similar to sunlight waves, Hamon's primary use is to fight undead creatures, including vampires. However, it also has defensive and utility capabilities.

To be able to use Hamon, you need to find a teacher first. It can be a Hamon Master mob, residing in a Hamon temple in mountainous areas, or another Hamon user player. Hamon is a versatile tool with lots of various skills, but to learn them and make your Hamon strong, you'll need to spend some time and effort training it.

Stand

A Stand is a spiritual manifestation of a person's life energy. They are generally manifested as a character of their own, hovering near the user, however, in some cases, they can be bound to real-life objects or have no visible form at all. Each Stand possesses a unique set of abilities and has its physical limitations.

A Stand power can be acquired via a Stand Arrow, which can be obtained in two ways: the first is finding a meteorite in a snowy biome, mining its core with a diamond pickaxe, and using the scraps to craft an Arrow; the second is finding an Arrow in a desert pyramid.

As of version 0.2.2 of the mod, 7 stands are available in the base mod.

To get step-by-step instructions on the mod's controls in-game, you can type /jojocontrols command (you'll get a reminder in the chat the first time you gain a power).
