SlowSurvival is a Minecraft server plugin designed for servers that want a slower, more balanced, and progression-focused survival experience.

Built for Paper 1.16.5, SlowSurvival lets server owners restrict powerful equipment, prevent access to the End dimension, and automatically remove prohibited items from player inventories and supported containers.

The goal is simple: encourage players to take their time, explore naturally, and enjoy survival without rushing straight to endgame gear.

🛡️ Restrict Powerful Armor

Block diamond armor and netherite armor.

Prevent prohibited armor from being crafted or obtained through supported gameplay actions.

Remove restricted armor from player inventories and equipped armor slots.

🚫 Restrict Endgame Items

Block Elytra.

Restrict shulker boxes and their colored variants.

Block selected End-related items, including dragon eggs, dragon heads, and End crystals.

Customize the blocked item list through the configuration file.

🌌 Disable the End Dimension

Prevent players from entering the End through supported portal and teleport events.

Display a configurable message when an entry attempt is blocked.

🧹 Automatic Item Cleanup

Remove prohibited items from player inventories.

Clean equipped armor slots and offhand slots.

Remove prohibited dropped items.

Clean supported containers in loaded chunks.

Run cleanup automatically at a configurable interval.

Execute cleanup manually using an administrator command.

🔧 Administrator Commands

/slowsurvival cleanup
Immediately run the configured cleanup process.

/slowsurvival reload
Reload the configuration and refresh the plugin's restrictions.

Administrative commands require the slowsurvival.admin permission.

This project targets the legacy Paper 1.16.5 API. Compatibility with other Minecraft versions or server software is not guaranteed.

📥 Installation

Download the compiled SlowSurvival.jar.

Stop your Paper server.

Place the JAR file in the server's plugins directory.

Start the server.

Edit plugins/SlowSurvival/config.yml to customize the rules.

Use /slowsurvival reload to apply configuration changes.

Always test the plugin on a separate server and back up your world before using it on an established survival server.

⚠️ Important Notes

Item restrictions depend on the configured blocked-material list.

Cleanup scans loaded chunks and does not automatically load every chunk in every world.

Other plugins, commands, or custom mechanics may introduce alternative ways to obtain items or enter dimensions. Test your server's specific setup to identify any additional bypasses.
