Tourmaline

Made for Mod Garden: DIY

A mod that adds things from a specific game (keeping vague to avoid spoiling)

Currently adds:

  • A magic points system
    • A bar that shows you how much you have left replaces the XP/locator bar when holding a magic item
  • Magic items that use said magic points system
    • Wand: fires a magic arrow in the direction you're facing, at the cost of 1MP
    • Dagger: freezes entities in a cone in the direction you're facing, at the cost of 6MP
    • There are plans for two more but I didn't get around to adding them before the Mod Garden deadline ;w;
      • There might be a secret extra way you can use the two existing ones, though...
  • Another spawnpoint type, that works in all dimensions
    • Requires a "checkpoint base" block, which can be created by right clicking a glass block on top of obsidian with a crystal block
    • You will need to build a structure around said checkpoint base block for it to work
    • Once the structure is correct, right clicking the base block with a respawn anchor activates the checkpoint (and consumes the anchor)
    • If the structure becomes invalid at any point, the checkpoint breaks (you do not get the anchor back)
    • You can use a beacon in place of the checkpoint base
      • You can upgrade a checkpoint base into a beacon by right clicking with a nether star
    • Using the checkpoint fully heals your health, hunger and magic.
  • Upgrading your max health, hunger, and magic
    • Requires a checkpoint with a beacon base
    • Stand at the checkpoint, and right click on any of the upgrading items in your inventory (flower, leaf, mushroom)
      • (They should be glowing if you're standing in the right spot)
  • A block that listens for specific keypresses by nearby players and outputs a redstone signal when it finds one
    • Which key it listens for is completely configurable! It only listens for a keybind, not the actual keyboard key though (e.g. key.inventory as opposed to E)
  • A block that takes in redstone signals on its sides and outputs a signal on top if the pattern of inputs matches what it's looking for
    • The pattern it's looking for can be written by powering its bottom side, and then inputting the desired code on its sides

There are currently no crafting recipes outside of compacting/uncompacting recipes for the gems.
